Solugenix is assisting a client in their search for a Sr. Controls Engineer. This is a direct hire opportunity based out of Lake Forest, CA (Onsite).

 

Qualifications:

  • The candidate needs to have strong fundamentals in control theory and application.
  • Excellent background in linear and non-linear systems analysis, observers, and state-estimation, and first principles design and analysis of control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to ground-up design, analyze, and implement control.
  • Simulating dynamic models of electromechanical actuators.
  • Experience with at least one software implementation platform.
  • C/C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience, understanding, and intuition for the physics of electrical machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing controllers for electrical machines.
  • Aide in tuning controls to verify the function of the new algorithms, to track performance changes as software and machine updates are introduced, and to perform regression tests to ensure no unintentional changes occur in the development process.
  • Updating and maintaining automated simulations that exercise all aspects of dynamic performance that are influenced by current and future control systems.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, process, and controls automation engineers to define control system capability and establish actuation/sensing requirements.
  • Integrating physical system models of high-speed roll-to-roll, converting, calendaring, and powder management systems with intelligent controls of motor drives and advanced sensor designs.
  • Create and integrate models, define algorithms, write testing code, and evaluate the performance of algorithms for next-generation cell machines.
  • Designing controllers, modeling such controllers, and further developing the algorithms in a machine.
  • Aide in tuning controls to verify the function of the new algorithms, to track performance changes as software and machine updates are introduced, and to perform regression tests to ensure no unintentional changes occur in the development process.
  • Updating and maintaining automated simulations that exercise all aspects of dynamic behavior that are influenced by current and future control systems.
  • Work collaboratively with electrical, mechanical, process, and power electronics engineers to define control system capability and establish actuation/sensing requirements.

Annual Base Salary Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $160,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training and/or experience.
